  • Purchase insurance applies to goods purchased with credit card at stores and online.
  • It compensates expenses on repair or replacement of durable goods in case of theft, damage or destruction even if it was done unintentionally by the card holder himself. Durable goods are items with a lifespan of at least 3 years. The lifespan of a product is determined by the manufacturer.
  • It applies to most purchases incl. clothing, sports equipment, tech gadgets etc. for 365 days from the day of the purchase.

What does it apply for?

  • If you or your family member cannot attend the scheduled event to which the tickets were bought due to your or their illness, death or accident, problems with transportation or other reasons listed in the terms and conditions, unused tickets will be refunded.
  • Insurance applies to event tickets in Lithuania, purchased by the credit card holder. Protection applies to events such as concerts, conferences, theatre, and sports events.
  • Tickets must be bought with your credit card or by transfer from credit card‘s account. The insurance is valid if the credit card agreement is in force continuously from the time of purchase of tickets to the insured event.
  • Total insured tickets amount per calendar year is EUR 1000.
  • The deductible is EUR 30. The deductible does not apply if the amount of the loss exceeds EUR 30.

What does it apply for?

This protection applies to online purchases, if they were delivered damaged or were not delivered at all, and merchant has refused to compensate your loss, resend or replace the product.

How does it work?

  • If an online purchase paid for by card was delivered damaged or not delivered at all and the seller refuses to compensate for the losses, submit card transaction claim In case of faulty delivery of goods and services „Swedbank“ recommends that cardholders dispute payments by cards if goods or services were not delivered, or if they were delivered damaged. To initiate the chargeback process, please send a message via the internet bank in the "Contacts" section, selecting the topic "Card transaction claim”. Fill in the required fields and send the message. For information: correspondence with the service provider / merchant must be provided to the Bank. via internet bank message within 90 days since date of purchasing or from date of promised delivery date, if it was provided by the merchant.
  • For card transaction claim compensation amount is the sum of your purchase.
  • Products that weren’t compensated by a card transaction claim or that were paid for using bank transfer are protected by Purchase insurance in accordance with the applicable insurance conditions. Report damage for Purchase insurance claim handling. Product needs to have a shipping tracking number.
  • The compensation amount cannot exceed the maximum Purchase Insurance amount.

Terms and conditions of fees:

1. All fees shall be debited from the customer's account with the Bank, unless otherwise specified in the Fees and the Credit Card Agreement.
2. The fee applies when issuing a new card, renewing a card, or replacing a lost or stolen card or at your request at a card issuing branch or by mail. A renewed card may be sent by mail at our discretion, i.e. without a separate request from you.
3. When delivering the card in an urgent manner, we will apply an urgent card delivery fee together with the standard card issuance fee for delivery by mail or the card issuance fee at a branch, depending on the card delivery option you have chosen.
4. At your request, we will deliver the card with your existing credit limit to a bank branch or to your specified address in Lithuania in an urgent manner by courier:

  • On the next business day, if the card was ordered before 1 p.m.;
  • Within two business days if the card was ordered after 1 p.m.;
  • In case the credit limit has not yet been granted to you, a new credit card will be delivered in the manner and within the time limits specified above after the decision on granting the credit limit has been made.
5. The fee for cash withdrawals at ATMs and other places where this service is provided will be debited from your account with the Bank on the payment date specified in the agreement each month, and the fee for receiving a copy of the account statement will be debited from your credit limit account.
6. We calculate the amount of currency exchange fee payable by you when a transaction (including cash withdrawal with a card) is performed in a currency other than euros by converting the transaction amount into euros. For the purpose of the conversion, we use the euro, and the relevant currency exchange rate set by Mastercard International on the transaction processing date and add the specified currency conversion fee (2.45%) to the amount. You can calculate the currency conversion fee yourself using the currency conversion calculator available on the Bank's website https://www.swedbank.lt/private/home/more/calculator.
7. Detailed information about travel and purchase insurance is available on the Bank's website and at Bank branches.
8. The Security Program applies to credit card agreements concluded before 31 August 2023.
9. We will not charge a fee for changing the Credit Limit Terms and Conditions when changing the payment date and the linked bank account.
10. The period during which you will not be charged interest on the credit limit used applies to the credit funds you pay for purchases made with your card.
11. At your request, the daily transaction limits may be changed.

How to Apply

  • Apply for the credit card in the Internet bank.
  • We will inform you about the decision by phone, via SMS or by the Internet bank message.
  • If you accept the conditions, sign the agreement in the Internet bank.
  • You will be able to use credit limit immediately after signing the contract.
  • Your card will arrive within 14 days.
  • When you receive your card, log into the Internet bank, and activate it there.
  • You should activate a new card within 30 days from the date of order, whereas in the case of a renewed card – within 30 days from the date of expiry of the old card. If you don’t do it within the required term, you won’t be able to do it later, and if you use the credit limit, you will have to repay it under the terms and conditions provided for in the agreement.

Income

  • Your income must be at least EUR 600 (for Platinum credit card EUR 670) per month after tax. In case you have dependents, your income must be higher.
  • If a credit card is obtained for family needs, total income of the family must be not smaller than EUR 1000 (after taxes). In case you have dependents, your income must be higher.
  • You must be earning a steady income for at least 6 consecutive months and your probation period must be over.
  • If you are planning to repay the loan from sources other than your salary, upon arrival to a bank branch, you will have to submit official documents evidencing the receipt of these revenues.

Obligations

  • Your family monthly expenses aimed at covering your existing liabilities must not exceed 40% of your monthly income. If you are married but you wish to receive a credit card with a limit only for yourself, when completing the loan application form, indicate that you are applying for a Personal Loan. In the event your income is not enough to receive the Personal Loan, your spouse will have to fill in the application of a co-debtor/guarantor, so that the bank can assess the creditworthiness of your family.
  • You must be free of debts (due financial liabilities) to Swedbank or to other creditors and of unpaid invoices for other services.

FAQ

It is a payment card that you can use to pay for goods and services both in shops and online. It allows you to make purchases using the credit limit granted by the bank or your own funds transferred to a credit limit account. Its main advantage is the access to additional benefits such as shopping and travel insurance, etc. Customers can use a credit card by transferring personal funds to a credit limit account or by using a credit limit granted by the bank.

An interest free period means that no interest is payable on purchases for a certain number of days (depending on the type of card) after the credit card has been used to pay for purchases online or in a physical shop. With the Gold Credit Card, this period is 30 days after each purchase. If you do not repay the amount used, interest on the credit limit starts to accrue from the 31st day.

No interest free period applies when paying by bank transfer, transferring money from a credit limit account or withdrawing money from an ATM.

Interest is only charged on the credit limit used, if you use your own funds transferred to your credit limit account, you only pay the monthly credit card administration fee, no other additional fees.

Both credit and debit cards are payment cards used to pay for goods and services.

You can use your personal funds or a credit limit granted by your bank to pay with a credit card. Whereas with a debit card you can only use your own money.

Another difference is that the Gold Credit Card gives you additional benefits such as shopping and travel insurance, free withdrawal limits at ATMs around the world, and free currency conversion fees when you pay with your credit card in another currency.

If you have a credit card, you will be pre-assessed for renewal of your credit cards as they approach their expiry date (approximately 70 days before the card expires), according to the responsible lending criteria:

  • whether the card you have meets the current conditions (it has at least the minimum credit limit, or whether the type of card is still issued);
  • the customer’s compliance with the obligations;
  • the financial situation of the customer based on the data available to the bank.

If you are found to be eligible, you will be informed that you need to apply for a card renewal. You can do this by logging in to your Internet Bank under “My Cards” – “Application for card renewal”.

When renewing a credit card contract, we need to assess your solvency, as we do for new credit. Therefore, you may need to provide additional documentation and, if necessary, include your spouse, so that we can grant the credit card after assessing your family’s income and liabilities.

The card will reach you by the middle of the last month of its validity. The card will be sent by post to the address you have provided. Please make sure that the address you have provided is correct, and you will be able to activate the card in your Internet Bank. The PIN-code of the previous car will be valid for the new card.

If it is found that the card cannot be renewed, you will be informed before the last month of validity.

You can apply for a new card by filling in an application form in the Internet Bank under “Cards” > “Credit cards”. Once your creditworthiness has been assessed and the application has been approved, the card will be sent by post to the contact address you have provided. If you have lost your card, forgotten your PIN or are unable to use it for other reasons, you can request a replacement in the Internet Bank: “Card” > “My Cards” > “Replace Card”. The new credit card will have the same expiry date as the previous one. It will be sent by post to the contact address you have provided.

One of the benefits of the Gold Credit Card is travel insurance, which protects your whole family in case of unexpected events or expenses. The insurance is valid as long as you have a valid credit card at the time of travel, even if you paid for the trip itself with another card.

Travel insurance is also valid for family members: co-insured persons are the spouse travelling with the cardholder, the partner living together in the same household, as well as children and grandchildren. The child or grandchild of the insured person and the spouse/ partner is covered if the child/grandchild:

  • is up to and including 17 years of age; or
  • is up to and including the age of 21 years, a full-time pupil or student, or up to and including the age of 21 years, and has applied for full-time education (including vocational training).
To use your credit card to pay for online purchases, activate the “Online payment” function in the Internet Bank under “My Cards” or in the “Cards” > “Settings” section of the smartphone app. A new card is produced and delivered within 14 days of a positive decision on the credit card. You can check your card PIN in the Swedbank smartphone app by clicking on “PIN code” under “Cards”. You can also change it at your nearest Swedbank ATM by selecting “Other transactions” > “Change PIN”. The updated card works with the PIN of the previous card. Select “Add to Apple Wallet” in the “Cards” section of the Swedbank smart app, read and agree to the terms and conditions of use. If you agree, your card will be added to your Apple Pay digital wallet. In the Swedbank Smart App, under “Cards” > “Digital Wallets”, click “Manage” and select the card you want to add. Confirm this with your SMART-ID PIN2. Once you have done this, please read and accept the terms of use. You will receive a confirmation code by SMS, which you will need to enter in the “Digital Wallets” section and click “Continue”. To pay with Google Pay Digital Wallet, set it as your primary payment method.

Typical example of an APR calculation

For a Gold credit card with credit limit of EUR 1500, at a fixed interest rate of 18% p.a., a minimum daily service fee set by the Bank (EUR 1 per month), a monthly card administration fee (EUR 5/month), and a one-off card issuance fee set by the Bank, the total annual percentage rate (APR) of the cost of the consumer credit would be: 26.82% and the total amount payable by the borrower would be EUR 1713.50.

The APR and the total amount payable by the consumer borrower are calculated on the assumption that the Credit Agreement will be valid for 12 months, the full amount of the Credit shall be disbursed on the date of signature of the Credit Agreement and shall be repayable in equal monthly instalments over a period of one year, with the first instalment due one month after the Credit Limit has been drawn down, and the last instalment to cover the balance of the Total Amount Payable by the consumer borrower, The Credit Agreement will be executed in accordance with the terms and conditions set out therein, the Credit Limit will be used for purchases/services by card payment (the most common method of use of the Credit Limit), the annual interest rate, the amount of the Fees and other costs will remain the same as at the time of conclusion of the Credit Agreement and will continue to apply until the end of the Credit Agreement.

Preconditions apply to children starting from age of 12.

Preconditions are not needed if trip is cancelled due to Covid-19 sickness or self-isolation before the trip.

For example, we will compensate Covid-19 related medical expenses abroad, if you need medical assistance. Or travel cancellation costs before the trip if you: have received a positive coronavirus test, or you are a close contact person and have to stay in isolation (quarantine).

Travel disruption caused by authorities (e.g. closed borders, lockdowns) is not covered even in case of pandemic/epidemic.
