  • Be cautious of offers that are too good to be true.
  • Make sure you know how you can return the goods if necessary.

The special offer is valid for orders of Gold and Standard credit card made within the period from 9 November to 6 December 2020. As from 1 June 2021, the standard monthly fee specified in the price list will apply for the cards. The offer is valid for customers who do not have and have not had “Swedbank” credit cards of the same type for the last 3 months.

Example of a standard annual percentage rate calculation: granted credit limit – 1500 EUR, when credit agreement period is 42 months, monthly amount of the principal of 375 EUR is paid (in case of fixed payment credit card, the following is applicable: credit agreement period of 36 months, credit repayment period of 24 months, monthly amount of the principal of 75 EUR), also fixed annual credit interest rate of 19% is applied, monthly minimum daily banking fee for private persons as established by the Bank is paid, monthly bank account administration fee and one-time card issuing fee is paid, then, the total consumer credit annual percentage rate would be:

  • Fixed payment credit card - 21.7 %, and the total amount paid by the consumer loan receiver would be EUR 1842.
  • Standard credit card – 23 %, and the total amount paid by the consumer loan receiver would be EUR 2552.
  • Gold credit card – 24.9%, and the total amount paid by the consumer loan receiver would be EUR 2627.

If you apply for a Mastercard Platinum credit card with granted credit limit – 3000 EUR, when credit agreement period is 42 months, credit repayment period is 4 months, monthly amount of the principal of 750 EUR is paid, also fixed annual credit interest rate of 13% is applied, monthly minimum daily banking fee for private persons as established by the Bank (0,70 EUR per month) is paid, monthly credit card administration fee (16 EUR) and one-time card issuing fee (5 EUR) is paid, then, the total consumer credit annual percentage rate would be 21,14 %, and the total amount paid by the consumer loan receiver would be 4 938,38 Eur.

The annual rate of the total consumer credit annual percentage rate and the total amount paid by the consumer loan receiver are calculated assuming that the bank pays the full Loan amount to the receiver on the day of signing the Credit Agreement and this amount is not repaid until the Credit Limit expires. In accordance with the terms and conditions set forth in the Credit Agreement, the credit limit funds will be used for credit card purchases (the most common way of using credit limit funds), the annual interest rate, fees and other expenses will remain the same as at the time of concluding the Credit Agreement and will continue to apply until the end of the Credit Agreement.

Purchase insurance terms and conditions

  • Purchase insurance applies to goods purchased with credit card at stores and online.
  • It compensates expenses on repair or replacement of durable goods* in case of theft, damage or destruction even if it was done unintentionally by the card holder himself.
  • It applies to most purchases inlc. clothing, sports equipment, tech gadgets etc. for 180 days from the day of the purchase.
  • To claim you need to have purchase document or payment information.

*Durable goods are items with a lifespan of at least 3 years. The lifespan of a product is determined by the manufacturer.

Please note that the process of debiting a borrower’s account with the amount payable under a credit agreement begins at 17:45 on the payment day specified in the agreement. We recommend taking care in advance that the amount sufficient for the execution of payments is available in the account.

If you have lost your card or it is stolen, please block your card easily in our Internet Bank, Swedbank app or call 1884 (+370 5 268 44 44 for call from abroad).

We want to make online shopping safer for you. That’s why the internet shopping option must be activated in case of each MasterCard and Visa cards that have been issued by Swedbank and are used to make purchases online.

  • Before you make a purchase online, make sure the store is safe.
  • Try to find out more information about merchant. Every website should have information about the name and location of the company and an e-mail address and telephone number to use, should you have any problems. There should also be information about deliveries and returns, the procedure for submitting complaints as well as warranty terms and conditions. Don’t fall for discounts that seem to be too unrealistic.
  • Use a welcome text in the Internet shopping programme that is as personalised as possible. Every time you make a purchase online, ensure that the welcome text is the same as the one you set when you signed up to the programme.
  • If you only rarely make purchases online using your bank card, we advise you to activate the Internet shopping option only for the moment of making the purchase.
  • You can protect your money by choosing usage limits that suit you.
  • You can set separate limits for purchases, cash and payment transactions.
  • You can change Usage Limits in Internet bank under My Cards or in the Swedbank app.
  • Make sure you always know where your bank card is. If you pay by card, do not let the person serving you take it to a back room on their own, because your card data can be stolen.
  • If you lose your card, immediately block it in the Mobile Bank or call the Consultation Centre and ask them to close it.
  • It is not recommended, to send your card number by post or give it on the telephone when making a purchase, because your card data could be used for fraudulent transactions, but if there are no other possibilities, please, be extra careful.
  • Be careful when using the ATMs of other banks. Some ATMs return your card before dispensing the money. Make sure you have your bank card and the requested amount of cash before you leave the ATM.
  • Only the person whose name appears on the card, may use the card. Do not let anyone, even a close person, to use your card.
  • Always check the transaction amount that you are approving with the card.
  • Follow up your card transactions regularly in your internet bank or in the Swedbank app. If any transaction seems suspicious, please contact the bank.
  • When you get your bank card, you will also receive a PIN that is known only to you.
  • Do not tell or show it to anyone.
  • Memorize it, do not write your PIN on the card or anywhere else where it can be seen by others.
  • Do not tell your PIN to anyone, not even to bank employees.
  • Try to enter your PIN so that no one else can see it, because your card could be stolen and used by somebody else. If the payment with a stolen card is confirmed with the PIN, it is the customer’s liability.
  • If you suspect that your PIN has become known to someone else or if the bank has notified you of the need to change your PIN, you must change it immediately. You can do so at any Swedbank ATM.
  • When selecting your PIN, do not re-use your old PIN. Do not use identical codes for different cards for the purpose of memorising them.

Conditions of travel insurance.

New cards are not issued and are not changeable. If a VISA Classic individual credit card is lost or damaged, a classic Mastercard credit card will be issued.

VISA Platinum and Mastercard Platinum Credit cards

Conditions of travel insurance.

From 2017 04 06 new cards are no longer issued and starting from 2018-04-30 previously issued cards will not be renewed or replaced if lost, forgotten PIN or upon customer request. Instead these cards we recommend to purchase the New VISA Platinum with the updated conditions of insurance and additional Priority Pass opportunities.
Before making a decision regarding the loan and its amount, we recommend to accurately assess your personal and/or your family financial possibilities. We recommend to allocate not more than 30-40% of your monthly income for monthly contributions aimed to cover your financial liabilities.
