Success in 2007 pending challenges of 2008

"A couple of years ago it became obvious that in future customers instead of separate services will opt for financial institutions capable or satisfying the great majority of customer needs. Hansabankas has successfully reorganised its activities and its customers give priority to our organisation because of the convenience and ability to provide them with complex servicing, - says Board Chairman of the Bank Giedrius Dusevičius. This is naturally reflected by growing volumes of Hansabankas activities and strong financial performance, which in 2007 was record and contributed even more to strengthening of Hansabankas Group. We are very happy about the fact that according to the data of TNS Gallup 2007 Financial Monitoring market survey Hansabankas was a choice No.1 for savings and investment services."

"A year before in our annual report we mentioned that 2007 will be the year of macroeconomic changes and "overheating" of economy. Today these processes are already real, but they will persist and continue developing. Already this year a great majority of enterprises intending to continue in operation will devote particular attention to efficiency which in its turn will have considerable effect in the first instance on redistribution of labour market. It is difficult to forecast the impact on unemployment index, but it will certainly differ from expectations. Growing inflation will stimulate savings and reduction of costs and will noticeably change consumption habits of residents. On the other hand, these inevitable and not very pleasant developments will also predetermine positive changes – first and foremost good preconditions and circumstances will evolve for the setting up and development of small enterprises due to their greater flexibility and more rapid adaptability to changes. Also, investments in advanced technologies will grow. For the second year already Hansabankas receives EU aid for the Project “Development of Business Competences and Consulting Skills of Bank Employees” aimed at training employees to be competent consultants to small and medium-sized business. In lending business particular attention of Hansabankas will be devoted to the formation of these areas which is consistent with the responsible lending policy we pursue", – says Giedrius Dusevičius.
