2005-01-17 Back

Hansabankas informs that the electronic letters that have recently started circulating in Internet asking for adjustment of "hanza.net" codes are not written and sent by the Hansabankas. This in mind, the bank cautions its customers against entering any private "hanza.net" codes and sending such confidential information in electronic letters despite that the received e-mail’s design looked like that of Hansabankas.

The bank would also like to remind that it has never been sending electronic letters to customers in order to ask them to provide AB Bankas Hansabankas with "hanza.net" password or other accounts-related information. Therefore, once such letters are received by the bank’s customers, notification of them should be sent to the bank immediately.

All customers, who have already received letters of the abovementioned type and entered their personal codes, are asked to phone to the bank immediately and block access to "hanza.net". As a result the bank will issue new passwords that may be received at any Hansabank office.

The entering of personal "hanza.net" codes while logging to Hansabankas’ Internet bank is allowed only at the following address: https://lt.hanza.net. As the operation of the bank’s Internet bank facility, "hanza.net", is safeguarded by Hansabankas’ special security means, there is no threat either to the said facility or the bank’s customer database provided "hanza.net" users follow relevant security instructions/rules and do not create access to their logging-on codes.
