Small Shareholders of "Hansabank" Group Transfer Their Shares to "Swedbank"

"Hansabank" Group filed an application with the Estonian Central Securities Depository regarding the transfer of shares of small shareholders to "Swedbank" ("FöreningsSparbanken") for 211,23 Estonian crones (about LTL 46,6) per share paid by the latter bank.
On the basis of the filed application the Estonian Central Securities Depository will transfer shares to the account of "Swedbank" and money for shares into the accounts of small shareholders on 30 June. As from 1 July "Hansabank" Group shares will be removed from trading in Tallinn Stock Exchange.
The official offer of "Swedbank" to purchase "Hansabank" Group shares held by small shareholders was issued on 11 February 2005. Acquisition of "Hansabank" Group shares is a natural step towards reaching the target of becoming the leading bank in the Baltic-Scandinavian region. "Hansabank" Group holding the uniquely strong position in the local market will be an ideal platform for further growth of "Swedbank" in the Baltic States and outside this region", - said at that time Carl Eric Stalberg, the Executive Manager of "Swedbank".

Together with the Swedish "Swedbank", which presently manages 99 per cent of shares of this Bank, "Hansabank" forms the leading financial group in the Northern and Baltic States. "Hansabank" Group employs 6 thousands of staff (of which about 2,5 thousand - in Lithuania). The Group provides services to nearly 4 million clients (of which 2 million are in Lithuania). Total assets of "Hansabank" Group at present account for nearly 10 billion euros.
