“Hansabank” Group Managers Elected to the Executive Management of “Swedbank”

The Swedish Bank "Swedbank" managing "Hansabank" - the largest financial institution in the Baltic States, decided to form a new Executive Management of the "Swedbank" Group. The new Executive Management of the Group will consist of representatives both the Swedish and Baltic operations. In addition to Jan Lidén president and CEO, the Executive Management consists of seven members: Bengt Erik Lindgren, the Deputy Head of Swedish Banking; Kjell Hedman, the Head of Customer Offerings and Products in Swedish Banking; Erkki Raasuke, the Head of Baltic Banking; Ingrida Bluma, the Head of Hansabank in Latvia; Annika Wijkström, the Head of Markets; Anders Ek, the Head of Strategic and International Banking; and Gith Bengtsson, representing the unions.

"Today "Swedbank" is the organisation which is entirely different from what it was half a year ago, - said Jan Liden, the "Swedbank" Group President. – Having acquired all shares of the leading financial institution in the Baltic States - "Hansabank" Group, we also gained strong positions in the international markets".

The Baltic "Hansabank" Group and the Swedish Bank "Swedbank" now constitute a unified banking group with more than 8 millions of clients in the Nordic and Baltic States. More than 15 thousands of employees work for the newly formed "Swedbank" and "Hansabank" Group.

"This is also reflected in a new management structure of the Group with stronger focus on business and strategic business development. Changes in the management and in the structure of the new organisation is based on the principle that all banking is local and that operational responsibility rests where business is performed", – said Jan Liden.

As of September 1 a new "Swedbank" Group structure will be formed on the basis of five strategic business areas. Day-to-day operations in the group will be carried out by five Strategic Business Areas, which report to the new Executive Management:

Swedish Banking local banking in Sweden, including "Robur" and "Spintab". The Swedish Banking is headed by Jan Lidén.

Baltic Banking consists of Hansabank’s operations in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Russia and is headed by Erkki Raasuke, CEO of Hansabank.

Markets consists of Swedbank Markets in Sweden and the Group’s interest in First Securities in Norway. It is headed by the present Head of Swedbank Markets, Annika Wijkström.

Shared Services consists of Swedish IT Development and IT Operations as well as Swedish support functions. The Business Area is headed by Fredrik Runnquist, presently Head of FSB Shared Services.

Strategic & International Banking comprises the Group’s international businesses and interests (except those belonging to other Strategic Business Areas) and is responsible for strategic business development, mergers and acquisitions. The business area is headed by Anders Ek.

The new "Swedbank" Group structure will start operating as from 1 September.
