Numbers of “hanza.net” Internet bank clients in Lithuania already have reached half a million

The Internet bank "hanza.net" already is being used by more than half a million of people in Lithuania. In the end of September, the five hundred thousandths "Hansabankas" Internet bank agreement was signed.
"Hansabankas" occupies the leading position in the Lithuanian Internet banking market – according to the data of the first half year of 2005, even 43 per cent of the Lithuanian Internet banking users have entered into agreements with "Hansabankas". From the beginning of this year until 20 September the number of "hanza.net" users reached half a million and increased by 79 thousands or 18,8 per cent (from 421 thousands on 1 January 2005).
"We are glad that the Internet banking is becoming a routine tool for handling financial matters in the largest towns of Lithuania as well as in more remote areas, and that Lithuanian people of different age groups have accustomed themselves to using the system of "hanza.net". Since long the Internet bank has been used not only for checking the account balance, but also for active payment of charges for utilities, signing deposit and direct debit agreements, effecting local and international payments, conversion of currency, - explained Ramūnas Strauka, Director of the Department of Products and E-channels of "Hansabankas". – However, increasing number of "hanza.net" clients and activity of users obligate us to continue moving ahead at a smart pace in order to satisfy the growing user needs".
The survey of "hanza.net" users organised this summer and covering over 10 per cent of active "hanza.net" clients showed that over 90 per cent of respondents appreciate "hanza.net" system for its speed and stability, guaranteed security and user-friendliness. As much as 93 per cent of the surveyed prefer ordering as much on-line services as possible. "Exactly for these clients who use the Internet banking and are willing to handle as many as possible financial matters via the Internet, we are improving our "hanza.net" system", - said R.Strauka.
