For Hansabank customers - attractive terms of withdrawing money in Sweden
2005-11-25 Back
As from on 1 December 2005, Hansabank's holders of debit cards can withdraw money in Sweden enjoying the same attractive terms as those applied at Hansabank Group banks in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.
Holders of Hansabankas-issued VISA Electron and Maestro cards can withdraw money in Sweden via ATMs operated by Swedbank (ForeningsSparbanken, as it is known in Sweden) under the same terms as those applied for the withdrawing of cash via ATMs operated by Hansabank Group's banks in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, i.e. free of charge (if total monthly withdrawals do not exceed LTL 5,000). Bank charges for cash withdrawing have been also reduced to holders of credit and business cards so that to uniform such fees across the entire Hansabank Group.
Hansabank Group operates over a thousand ATMs in three Baltic countries and has already issued 2.5 million payment cards. In its home country, Sweden, ForeningsSparbanken has around 1,000 ATMs and 3.1 million payment cards.
In Lithuania, Hansabankas is an unrivalled leader in card business: at the end of the third quarter of 2005, Hansabankas had captured a 33.4 percent market share and at end of October had issued over a million payment cards, of which 71 percent were chip-based cards.
A Swedish bank, Swedbank is the second largest Scandinavian bank in terms of sizes of clientele base and branch network. It is a retail banking leader in Sweden.
