ZOOM contest winner’s picture will appear on Hansabankas-issued payment cards.

The first Hansabankas youth program’s, ZOOM, contest for design of payment cards came to an end. Its winner became a 17-year old (11-grade) schoolgirl from Vilnius, Jakterina Aleksejeva. Her crocodile-bear picture will be used as a design for new Maestro ART cards issued by Hansabankas.
Hansabankas selected Jakterina’s picture as the best one according to "votes" cast by visitors of the www.zoom.lt website. In addition, the winner will be awarded 100,000 Zoom program’s bonus points that she may later exchange for a variety of prizes.
The first ZOOM cards design contest that lasted for over three months was a success. As many as 18,000 impressive and surprise samples of designs for payment cards were received. Any registered visitor of the www.zoom.lt website could participate in the contest of creation of designs for payment cards; however, the main prize could be awarded to full members of the ZOOM program only. As a result, awarded were 10 card design authors who had received the majority of "votes".
According to Vitalijus Rancevas, Director of Customer Department, the contest was aimed at the encouraging of the youth’s creativeness, providing young people with self-realization opportunities and winning of their peers’ recognition. Besides, young people were invited to participate in the Bank’s activities given that the creation of designs for payment cards had until now been the Bank’s concern only. Says Vitalijus Rancevas: "We wanted the participants to send in as many original pieces of designs as possible, not only the images copied from internet and other sources. We are glad that this first contest was won by an interesting original picture and are impatient to use it on our newly issued payment cards".
Jakterina will be later invited to participate in the process of preparation of cards for production: she will ‘pretty-up’ the picture together with professional designers, monitor composing of essential banking information and follow adaptation of cards for using of various plastic effects.
J. Aleksejeva’s picture will appear on all newly issued Maestro ART cards.
