Transfer and Fee
In Swedbank Western Union transfers could be forwarded in USD or LTL and paid in USD , LTL or EUR. A Western Union remittance to the payee staying in a foreign state shall be paid out in currency of that state according to the exchange rate fixed by Western Union, or in USD.
Money transfer not exceeding 7 500 USD (or equivalent amount in other curriency) may be forwarded or paid out in all branches of Swedbank. The amount of transfer from Western Union may not be sent or paid out by installments. The payment or remittance of the amount exceeding 7 500 USD (or equivalent amount in other curriency) shall be effected only upon receipt, by means of an electronic link, fax or telephone, of an additional approval from the Western Union Company.
How to Make Western Union Money Transfer?
- Visit the nearest agency of Western Union if you are abroad, or any branch of Swedbank, if you are in Lithuania.
- Complete a cash remittance form, pay the remittance amount and fee.
- Present your personal identification document.
- Inform your receiver of the transfer and notify about Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN).
How to Receive Western Union money transfer?
- Visit the nearest branch of Swedbank if you are in Lithuania, or Western Union agency, when staying abroad.
- Complete a respective form and present your personal identification document.
- If you have lost your personal document, ask your sender to add a test question. The Bank staff will assist you in confirming your identity.
- Receive your money.
Note: In order to receive Western Union money transfer in Lithuania the recipient is required to provide following information: sender's name, originating country, amount of money expected and correct Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). A valid identification, issued to recipient's name is also required. In some countries the recipient does not need to know the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). It is recommended to share the MTCN with the receiving person only for overall process simplification and faster service.
