Who is Eligible to Open an Account with Swedbank?
All natural persons, citizens of the Republic of Lithuania, foreign nationals as well as individuals without citizenship shall be eligible to open an account with Swedbank.
How to Open a Bank Account?
Opening a bank account is simple - you have to arrive at any customer service outlet of Swedbank and enter into a bank account agreement.
When opening an account, the Bank staff will ask you to furnish the passport or, if you do not have it, any other document - a foreign passport with valid visa, a permit of permanent residence in the Republic of Lithuania, marine or diplomatic passport or any ID card identifying Lithuanian citizenship.
For the purpose of opening a bank account the initial entry shall be optional. You may have an unlimited number of accounts. An agreement may be terminated at any time if necessary, withdrawing the entire amount held in the account.
Pursuant to the Republic of Lithuania Law on Deposit Insurance, all of the deposits held with the bank shall be insured with a state enterprise the Deposit Insurance Fund.
